When I first started my internship I saw myself through quite a bold lens. I was a young student about to dive into a non-profit organization and change the world in one year! Yeah... well, that hasn't happened yet and it probably won't, but that is okay. I am changing me, I am growing a learning new skills every week with my mentor's appropriate amount of guidance.
Part of me also saw myself falling into the roll of the stereotypical young intern; doing coffee runs, having her ideas immediately shut down or even being entirely ignored and not utilized. This perception has fallen a away completely, I am extremely engaged and very much appreciated by my co-workers and leaders. This came as some what of a shock but I am so grateful for these opportunities.
A way I can improve in my internship is specifically in my "do-dilligance". I have no problem brainstorming great ideas and coming up with creative concepts, but I have yet to put many of those ideas to action. If I can successfully follow through with the full creation process I know I can be prosperous in this position.
