In every company or work oriented environment there are basic skills that every member or employee must posses in order for the business to benefit from them, one of these being work ethic. The work ethic assignment focused on the three basic characteristics that best define work ethic, interpersonal skills, initiative, and being dependable. The three essential components are what makes an employee desirable because they are efficient.

Interpersonal skills are determined by how you communicate and interact with those around you. People with interpersonal skills work well with others and communicate affectively, they are great team players. Initiative is drive and self-motivation, lacking these traits can lead to procrastination and missed opportunities. Dependability is arguably the most important skill to practice in a work place. Dependable people are punctual, honest and reliable. If you are not a dependable employee companies will not hire you, for you would be a waste of expense.

I scored above average on my interpersonal and initiative skills but actually a few decimals below average for a female in dependability. Learning that I may not be was dependable as I could be motivates me to want to work harder at becoming better through my internship position. I need to remember that dependability could mean my job.
